Gator Volunteer Opportunities
Anything with an asterisk by it either has already been pre-assigned for this season or requires pre-approval. If you are interested in one of the jobs with an asterisk, please email the volunteer coordinator at [email protected] .
Scribes: Write down all times for an assigned lane.
Timers: Time swimmers in an assigned lane.
Starter help: Works on deck, resets the starter after each race.
Runners: Run paperwork back and forth between Clerk of Course, Ready Bench, and Scribes.
Tent Parents: Watch over age group tent, gather swimmers for races, and relays, walk around the pavilion to let everyone know the race is coming up for that age group.
Ready Bench: Assist in placing swimmers in correct heat and lane assignment.
Hospitality: Provide water to all working on deck and keep restrooms stocked.
Ribbons: Report to Clerk of Course at Shift 2 and affix labels to ribbons and file.
*Setup on Friday afternoons: Hot heavy lifting required. Pre-approval required
*Setup on Saturday mornings: Fast-paced, hot, heavy lifting required. Pre-approval required
Tear Down on Saturday afternoons: Fast-paced, hot, heavy lifting required.
Parking attendant: Assist all families in parking legally.
*Computer Clerks: Assist Clerk of Course. Must attend training.
Concessions: Assists customers with food purchases, assists with setup and tear down of concession stand.
Concessions/Grill: Works the grill at concessions.
*Team Store: Assist in the selling of heat sheets and gear.
*Prize Table: Collect personal best tickets from swimmers and manage prizes.
*Hot Chocolate: Pre assigned to provide hot chocolate to kids after every practice for first week.
*Managing Invitational meets: pre assigned, must have knowledge of how invitational signup works.
*Announcer: Pre assigned for all home meets. Must have knowledge of all equipment and be experienced with swim meets.
*Officials: Must complete training with NWAL. Refunded at the end of the season.
