Gator Volunteer Opportunities
Parent volunteers are critical to the success of a meet! We appreciate all of our volunteers!
Volunteer sign-up opens at 8:00pm on the Sunday before the meet. If you sign-up and later need to make a change, please contact the team Volunteer Coordinator at [email protected].
Timers: Time swimmers in an assigned lane. There will be a Timer's & Scribes Meeting prior to meet start to go through the procedure.
Scribes: Write down all times for an assigned lane. Check with the swimmer for their name before each heat starts to ensure correct swimmer is in the lane. Attend Timers & Scribes meeting prior to meet start.
Ready Bench: Assist in placing swimmers in correct heat and lane assignment.
Concessions: Assists customers with food purchases, assists with setup and tear down of concession stand.
Runners: Run paperwork back and forth between Clerk of Course, Ready Bench, and Scribes.
Tent Parents: Gather swimmers for races (will receive a roster sheet), walk around the pavilion/tent area to let everyone know the race is coming up for that age group. Recommended to have a swimmer in the age group.
Relay Parents: Gather swimmers for relays (will receive a roster sheet), Recommended to have a swimmer in the age group.
Hospitality: Provide water to all working on deck and keep restrooms stocked.
Ribbons: Report to Clerk of Course at Shift 2 and affix labels to ribbons and file.
Tear Down on Saturday afternoons: Fast-paced, hot, heavy lifting required.
Parking attendant: Assist families in parking legally and not in the loading zone.
Team Store: Assist in the selling of gear.
*Setup on Friday afternoons: Hot heavy lifting required. Pre-approval required
*Setup on Saturday mornings: Fast-paced, hot, heavy lifting required. Pre-approval required
*Computer Clerks: Assist Clerk of Course. Must attend training.
*Cooks/Grill: Works the grill at concessions.
*Announcer: Pre assigned for all home meets. Must have knowledge of all equipment and be experienced with swim meets.
*Starter help: Works on deck, resets the starter after each race.
*Officials: Must complete training with NWAL. Refunded at the end of the season.
